Eat up and help out.

Starting next week, the good folks of the Trolley Car Diner will be serving up their tender vittles and helping out Gearing Up! at the same time. The way this works is that after you eat any meal  at this Germantown landmark, you present the coupon below to the cashier and Gearing Up! Will get 15% of the purchase!

So once you ate up all the great diner food, you could head downtown to FridaySaturdaySunday and help donate to Gearing Up! again. They are going to donate 30% of the proceeds of the April 21st to the ladies of this great program. Make your reservation now. I hear the cool people are going between 6:30 and 8:30.

If you can not make it out to the nights mentioned above, you could always donate to Gearing Up and keep this program going strong.

If you not familiar with what is going on with the ladies of Gearing Up!, check it out below and see what you can do to help.

Gearing Up is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide women in transition from drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence, and/or homelessness with the skills, equipment, and guidance needed to safely ride a bicycle for exercise, transportation, and personal growth.
Many women in transition are formerly homeless, have histories of abuse and trauma as kids and/or as adults, have used drugs and/or alcohol as a way to cope with painful experiences, have limited education levels, some have psychiatric and medical problems, and all are attempting to learn how to live sober life with purpose and meaning.
While in transition, bicycling offers a mode of transportation, opportunities for social connectedness and employment, as well as countless psychological and physical health benefits. A primary goal of Gearing Up is to provide women with regular coaching, mentoring, and support to adapt healthy lifestyle changes, promote personal growth, and use biking for transportation.
