A year later and it still hurts

A year ago today, I was sitting at dinner with some friends when I got a call from an old friend. He told me that our friend Adam had died in a house fire.

Adam was a very special young man. He came into our life as a 15 year old kid that hung around the shop, and he grew into the man that we would all hope he would be, but he was taken from us way too early.

In the year that has passed, he has been awarded a posthumous Psychology degree from Western State College of Colorado and his parents got to spread his ashes over the mountain that he said he had his best day ever on. As a 21 year old young man, he had just helped an injured Iraq War vet learn how to ski at the Adaptive Sports Center in Crested Butte. Not a bad way to spend a young life.

Check my post from last year.
